Final Critique Week

Well it's Dead week ladies and gentlemen and I'm hoping not to die from the stress.

Tuesday I have a critique for textiles, my final project. The theme is the future. So I'm depicting my future. I Shibori'd a pale yellow piece of fabric to a blue so that the bottom gradually fades form yellow to blue, and then left some circle resists. Then I silkscreened a city scape of Times sqaure that was stylized and over layed it with another silkscreen of various blurbs about graphic design where the billboards are. I then ironed and sticjed the edges to look neat. I stiched starts in the small circlular resists. Then stitched "Your Ad Her..." around a large circle to look liek the rings of a planet. To show where and how we advertise is always expanding. Unfinished to look like it's being built. It's in red thread to mathc the red silkscreen. I'm currently stiching people around the city.

The book is still in the work for my graphic design class. The book binding is today. The paper for the book is in the mail along with some velvet fabric for the cover. The Final Crit is on Wednesday followed, but the book itself isn't due until next week.

I wish I could show you guys some pictures of what I'm working on but my mom has my camera...She decided she couldn't use hers since my screen is bigger adn she can't see it on hers. They went to Costa Rica. I wish I would of had it this last weekend for Little 500. But life goes on.

  1. I'm so glad you posted this! The layout is legible, clean and sharp, a great reflection of the typeface. Good job! ~Matt
