Well as you may or may not know I am going to study abroad this summer in Venice which is the main motivation for this blog. But to get to this point wasn't easy. I first heard about the trip last semester (though according to my peers we were told about it firs semester the year prior, but apparently I wasn't listening). The clincher for me was studying with graphic design students and teachers from Italy! Now isn't that just a cool opportunity for an aspiring graphic designer? I thought so. I applied, blah blah blah... Then came the clincher asking for money from the parentals. Studying abroad ain't cheap so in today's economy with everyone at risk of loosing their jobs you just have to be careful. My parent's weren't to keen on it so I talked to the overseas study lady and she said to finish the application and then see how it pans out because I could still be awarded financial aide. I was mainly pulling for the Fine Arts scholarship everyone that applies is up for, I didn't get it. But in an interesting turn of events I got a job that pays for my rooming next year which almost costs as much as the trip itself! So my dad complied as long as I continue applying for financial aide and worked and good old Panera Bread, alot!
So here lies the fruits of my spoils, $1000 dollar International Experience Grant! Huzzah!
